Blood Pressure Drugs

Adults with elevated systolic blood pressure were researched in a recent study.  Among those who had low levels of the blood pressure-controlling enzyme renin and were also treated with a beta-blocker or angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in hibitor, 16% had a significant increase in pressure.  When prescribed a blood pressure drug, as your doctor to check renin levels.  If they're high, a diuretic or a calcium channel blocker may be a better option for you.
