What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a Chinese Therapy that has been around for over 2000 years, and is used to treat pain and certain health conditions. It is based on the idea that energy is constantly flowing throughout our bodies, also know as "qi" (pronounced "chee"). Qi flows along energy pathways called meridians. Acupuncturists believe that when there is a blockage or imbalance in the flow of qi, at any point on the energy pathway, the results can be illness or physical pain and discomfort. By unblocking or balancing out the qi, through acupuncture, it is believed that both health and wellness can be restored.
Using very thin needles that are gently inserted into the skin at certain points on the body, our Acupuncturist Timothy McGarvey, L. Ac. will work to restore proper energy flow throughout the body.
